Training and CME
SAHM is committed to enhancing access to high quality health care for adolescents by supporting the training of all health professionals who care for adolescents.
Professionals from a wide variety of disciplines – including medicine, nursing, psychology, public health, social work, nutrition, law and sociology – become specialists in adolescent health by pursuing post-graduate coursework and/or clinical training. Physicians trained in pediatrics, internal medicine or family medicine begin a career in adolescent medicine, a board-certified medical specialty, with fellowship training. SAHM provides an annually updated roster of training opportunities in adolescent medicine and health.
