Heartland Regional Chapter
The Heartland Regional Chapter of the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine is a group of health professionals interested in the well-being of adolescents. Our membership covers the states of Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, North Dakota and South Dakota. Currently, most of our active members are affiliated with medical training programs, but anyone involved in the health care of young people is welcome.
Because our chapter covers a large geographic area, meetings are limited to one or two per year. Our spring business meeting is held during the annual national SAHM meeting. In the fall, we periodically hold virtual meetings, and sometimes an educational meeting with continuing education credits offered. Through the use of the new chapter listserve, our chapter hopes to become more active by increasing communication between members and forwarding opportunities for educational activities. Chapter dues are $25 annually and allow us to sponsor speakers for our meetings and offer scholarships for meeting attendance to trainees.
