Outstanding Achievement Award

Nominations for the 2024 Outstanding Achievement now open! 

The Outstanding Achievement Award in Adolescent Health and Medicine was established in 1981. The intent of this award is to recognize individuals nationally and internationally for their commitment to improving the health of and health care resources for adolescents and young adults. The award honors individuals who have made a lifelong commitment to the health and well-being of adolescents, who have exhibited leadership in the field, made significant contributions to the advancement of the field, or has inspired others through their work, research, education or leadership. Membership in the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine is not a requirement for eligibility to be considered for this award.

SELECTION PROCESS: Nominations are accepted from any current member of SAHM. The Awards Career Sub-Committee is charged with reviewing all nominations and identifying an award winner.

BUDGET AND ADMINISTRATION: The award is financially administered through the Society’s business office. The recipient of The Outstanding Achievement Award will be recognized at the 2024 Awards Ceremony and presented with a monetary award of $500 and a commemorative plaque. The awardee will also receive complimentary meeting registration for the 2024 SAHM Annual Meeting and reimbursement of travel expenses up to $1,000 (with receipts).
