The intent of this award is to provide an educational experience in adolescent health research for a group of healthcare providers who may not otherwise have the opportunity to benefit from the Professor’s expertise. The Visiting Professorship Program is intended to help research, policy and training programs to become better equipped to conduct adolescent health-focused research, as well as to improve the ability of the researchers to successfully compete for funding for a research program.

Since 2017, the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM) has been proud to offer the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA) Adolescent and Young Adult Health Research Award. The purpose of this award is to support research and program evaluation for LGBTQIA adolescents and young adults ages 13 to 26.
